About

Grant Steller is a Los Angeles based composer, producer, and songwriter who specializes in crafting lively scores and arrangements spanning an eclectic variety of genres and mediums. At a young age, he has garnered significant international acclaim and recognition for his work.

When he was 18 years old, Grant began writing music for one of the world’s most played video games – Honor of Kings, making him the youngest composer to ever contribute to a AAA game.

At 19, he produced a roaring big-band arrangement for renowned Chinese Vocaloid Luo Tianyi’s concert in Shanghai, performed to a crowd of 40,000. Later that year, actor Jacob Tremblay (Luca, Wonder, The Little Mermaid) entrusted him to score his short film Paralysis. Most recently, prolific pop artist Jude York enlisted Grant to produce his cover of Slipping Through my Fingers that would receive hundreds of thousands of streams, many noting its orchestral interludes.

Music I'm Proud of, Rotated monthly

The suite for the desert world in the video game Spring Dash where I explored the more adventurous and grand contexts of a desert. The game is all about momentum and movement, so the music had to propel the player, and propel it did.

An excerpt from the feature film "Sisters". This scene transitions from the emotional high of the film to the lowest point -- a tough yet rewarding challenge to score.

ARRANGEMENT

This was born from one of those cases where I wanted to listen to a jazz arrangement of "Merry-Go-Round of Life" from Howl's Moving Castle, but I couldn't find one, so I just made it.

Created as a pitch for an upcoming project, this is a lush ethnic orchestral piece where I aimed to really push the boundaries of the string library I was working with.

The highlight scene from the upcoming short film "Every Living Breathing Moment". This was one of the trickiest scores I have ever attempted, with live elements such as the guitar having to match the tempos fluxxuation's exactly, to reflect this washy, romantic, and cerebral dance scene.

A 7 minute behemoth of a suite for the upcoming short film "ATTAGIRL" directed by Chris Klimovski. This was a fascinating palette to develop combining Brooklyn hiphop & a classic horn section.
